Last night a friend of mine took me to see Blue October play at White Water Amphitheater. This was a night of firsts. First while I had heard of them I had never listened to any of their stuff. Well after last night I am now a fan and will be going out to get some of their stuff. Their songs are deep and dark, the music is original and very cool. If you have never seen them they play again tonight.
The second of the firsts for me was going to White Water. In it's second year of operation my first impression was wow what a cool place. It is located off the Guadalupe River and has sort of the ambiance that Red Rocks in Colorado has. This in my opinion will become the premier outdoor live music venue.
The band that opened last night was Meridianwest, a band out of Austin, TX, is a band to watch out for. They are a tight 3 piece band that just sign a record deal with Sony. So be on the look out for them. Check them out here!
